ABA Therapy

Building Positive Behaviors for Lifelong Success
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy at Odyssey Autism
At Odyssey Autism, our Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy program is rooted in the belief that every child has the potential to learn, grow, and thrive. We use data-driven and evidence-based strategies to help children improve social skills, communication, and daily living tasks. Through 1:1 sessions and a caring, personalized approach, we’re here to empower your child with the foundational skills needed for a brighter future.
What is ABA Therapy?
ABA Therapy is a scientific approach focused on understanding and changing behaviors in a positive, structured way. Our Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) work hand-in-hand with children and their families to:

Identify Strengths and Needs

We assess each child’s behavior patterns, learning styles, and skill levels.

Set Meaningful Goals

We develop targeted goals—like improving communication, increasing social interaction, or reducing challenging behaviors—based on your child’s unique needs.

Implement Individualized Interventions

We use play, interactive activities, and real-life scenarios to reinforce positive behaviors and teach new skills.

Track Progress

Frequent data collection and ongoing assessments help us evaluate what’s working and fine-tune interventions for the best outcomes.

How it works
Our Approach to ABA
Before therapy begins, our BCBA conducts a thorough evaluation to understand your child’s current abilities, behaviors, and any areas for growth. We use this information to craft a highly individualized treatment plan.
During therapy sessions, each child receives focused, personal attention from a trained RBT under the supervision of a BCBA. This ensures that lessons are tailored to each child’s learning style and pace.
We celebrate and reward small victories to encourage consistent progress. By focusing on positive reinforcement, we nurture a supportive environment where children feel motivated and confident.
Families play an essential role in their child’s progress. We provide parent training and regular check-ins to ensure consistent strategies are used at home, maximizing each child’s learning potential.
Benefits of ABA Therapy

While ABA is widely recognized as a gold-standard therapy for children with autism, many children with diverse needs can benefit from its structured, individualized approach.

FAQs

Center-based ABA takes place in a structured, predictable environment designed for learning. Many children make strong progress in this setting because it offers few distractions, access to specialized materials, and consistent routines. It also gives children the chance to practice school readiness, social interactions, and handling change in a supportive space.

While both center and home-based ABA focus on building life skills, center-based therapy offers benefits like:

  • A structured learning environment
  • Fewer distractions
  • Opportunities for peer interaction
  • Access to specialized play and learning materials
  • School-readiness skills (following routines, transitioning between activities, group learning)

Many families choose center-based ABA because it provides consistent opportunities to build independence and practice new skills outside of the home.

Children participate in a mix of 1:1 learning, play-based activities, movement breaks, and natural opportunities to build communication and social skills. Sessions are paced to match your child’s attention span and emotional needs.

Each child receives a personalized treatment plan designed by a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Day-to-day therapy is delivered by a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) who works 1:1 with your child. Your BCBA supervises the team, monitors progress, adjusts goals, and partners closely with your family.

Absolutely. Even though sessions happen in the center, we keep parents at the heart of the process by offering:

  • Regular updates and progress reviews
  • Opportunities to observe or participate
  • Family guidance meetings
  • Practical strategies to support your child at home

Therapy works best when everyone is working together!

The majority of plans cover center-based ABA therapy for children diagnosed with autism, and Odyssey Autism is in-network with most major insurers. Coverage varies, so our team will verify your benefits, help with authorizations, and explain expected costs before you start.

Play is one of the most effective ways young children learn. We use fun activities like building, puzzles, pretend play, storytime, and turn-taking games to strengthen communication, social, and problem-solving skills.

Your child’s team collects data throughout each session, completing skill checks and behavioral observations. BCBAs review progress weekly and meet with families to share updates, answer questions, and discuss next steps.

There’s no set timeline—each child’s length of stay depends on their individual needs, goals, and progress. Some children participate for a shorter period to build foundational skills, while others benefit from longer-term support.

One of the benefits of serving children ages 2–10 is that this allows us to work with them through key developmental stages and build the skills they need as they grow.
